Vipassana (10 days course)

Successfully completed 10 days Vipassana course at Dhamma Bengaluru. Did a 10 hour per day meditation for 10 days (as they say deep mind surgery) without any connection with outer world – no mobiles, must maintain noble silence with no communication of any sort even with fellow participants.

A wonderful technique which everyone at least once in a life has to learn. This course has nothing to do with religion or spirituality but pure in-depth self introspection that helps to peal off all the layers of impurities and makes one liberated from all miseries. It basically teaches how the sensation of the four stages of the mind (cognition, recognition, sensation and reaction) is the main cause of all miseries and how one can break the habit pattern of the mind by using the sensations as a tool. The technique is very simple but needs a lot of practice. After the course, one must do a 2 hours meditation every day.

This technique is discovered and made popular 25 centuries ago by the great scientist of mind and matter – Gautama Buddha in India. Preserved by Burma and brought back to India by S N Goenka.

The course is offered free of cost worldwide. After completing the course, if one is satisfied with the course, they can donate any amount of money to enable the organization to teach to others.

The uniqueness of this technique is it works at the experiential level of mind i.e, one must experience every bit of it by the completion of the course. There is nothing much in theory.

Overall Vipassana opens our mind & sub-conscious mind to look at things as the way they are.

I know this is a baby step of me in the noble path of Dhamma. Let me see where my journey in this path ends.
